The BSL Come Together Group was established in 2019. Our ethos is for the deaf/wider community to have equal accessibility to the wide variety of information offered from local services in their local areas of residence.
Our main objective is to provide practical support, accessible information and to promote the interests of citizens who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing alongside enhancing their quality of life and independence.
The following services are provided;
- Drop-in sessions – translation of documents, letters, form filling.
- Social gatherings, Trips etc – catch up with the Deaf community, peer support, friends coming together for chat & coffee.
- 1:1 sessions by appointment only – email us bslcometogether@gmail.com.
- Bi-Monthly training/awareness and access sessions covering various topics which the community have selected.
- Accessibility Awareness for Organisations.
- Interpreters are on hand at every drop in session.
Venues are located in Blackburn and Burnley, our aim is to expand into other areas of the North West in the near future.
We are working with local charity organisations to support and promote this service to ensure we can assist the deaf community in their local areas.
We are aiming to bring the community together and try to make a difference.
We want to ensure the deaf community are engaging with other services, have accessibility with them and each other.
